AfriCali

AfriCali is a California-based creative collaborative in sound created by South African born, Northern California MC/vocalist ‘Eyezon incomposing a unique blend of soulful rock, blues, heavy rhythms and percussion of 1970s African music topped with coastal-psych seasoning. It’s a sound that embodies the meaning of Afro-fusion.
The most interesting thing about AfriCali is that it lends importance to all the instrumentation as much as it does to the vocals, while the melodies of each instrument and voice develops in episodes, as opposed to the familiar verse-chorus format. What is astounding about this piece is its absolute ground-breaking and utterly contemporary fusion of innumerable elements. About as experimental and open-hearted as music gets, the endless interweaving of various keyboard, guitar sounds, the vocals and the evolving percussion, equals a masterpiece in any terms.

having toured with a plethora of musicians from different styles and musical background like former label mate K’naan, Stephen Marley, members of fela kuti, Hugh Masekela, and played festivals such as harmony festival, one love one heart music festival, Nacarubi Fest, Fillmore jazz fest, eagle Rock music festival, soul play and more.
their debut album ‘Tought to a culture’s released last October by German indie Label Tokyo Dawn Records has gotten raving reviews and major radio support via UK&s BBC, Kcrw and college radio across the country.

Small Forward

While attending college in Los Angeles, Michael, Rounak, Nick and Campbell started making pop music conjured by a love of Americana and blissed-out folk. Since 2014, they’ve recorded an eponymous debut EP, a full-length home recorded debut album (The Moon You Stand On, 2016) and a mini-album (Affections) released on Forged Artifacts (Los Angeles Police Department, Tomemitsu, Big Air) in October 2017. Their ever-changing style has adopted everything from downtempo bedroom-recordings to lush, kaleidoscopic psych-rock in an already sizeable body of work, all with a wide-eyed lens of relentless curiosity.
