Prolific, 26 year-old Philadelphian producer and multi-instrumentalist Swarvy is always experimenting with different blends of styles. The funk and soul of his sound remains the life of his productions, while the actual tracks may range from reoriented segments of $1-Bin records to fun, thickly orchestrated live arrangements of his own compositions–often channeling the raw spirit of 70’s funk/soul/jazz through a modern filter of hip-hop and R&B. Since moving to LA at the end of 2014, he’s shared “Stunts, Vol. 1-4” (an epic 40-track double-record on House Shoes’s Street Corner Music label), “Elderberry” (his most recent offering from Stones Throw partner, Leaving Records), as well as a large collection of self-released music from his bandcamp. His current live quartet includes Kiefer Shackelford on keys, Mike McTaggart on guitar, Efa Etoroma Jr. on drums.
